In collaboration with Loudspeaker Live, we delivered public speaking and confidence workshops for young people on our Speak Truth To Power programme.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS

If young people are to stand up against injustice and for their rights, they need to have the confidence to speak up.

Our workshop delivered at CONTACT Theatre, facilitated by Calvin from Loudspeaker Live, showed young people how in order to articulate their viewpoints they need to be able to listen as much as they need to speak.

Through a series of tasks and challenges, young people were asked to find their voice and speak their mind about a range of topics.

From the voting age to eating meat, participants debated a series of real-life topics in order to build their confidence in public speaking.

Confidence in public speaking is a vital tool for young people to excel in school, the workplace and society. Whether it is speaking at the UN or going on your first date, if we believe in what we say and listen to others we can forge new relationships and create change.
