Votes For Women examines how women in the UK secured the right to vote. In this unit we will learn about the key historical figures involved in the Suffrage movement and the context that they were operating in.

We will explore the lesser known stories of the Suffrage movement and opine why these stories haven't dominated the narrative in the same way as the Pankhursts.

During the sessions, students will be invited to bring their knowledge together and write their own speech on the power of the Suffrage movement.
Students will be asked to identify if barriers still exist that may impact women's ability to vote within the UK.
